When A Shipment Breaks The Mould, We Take The Lead

Some shipments demand more than simple forwarding: they require regulatory expertise, dedicated assets and end-to-end operational coordination. Our team manages these controlled-risk operations across every mode (road, sea, air, rail). Each project begins with an upfront audit, a tailored transport plan, and a single point of commercial contact.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about specialised transport.

Can you transport a CITES-protected species?+

Yes, subject to the CITES permits matching the species' appendix. Appendix I specimens (the most endangered) are only carried in tightly framed cases — captive breeding, zoological or conservation programmes. Packing follows the IATA Live Animals Regulations and Regulation (EC) No 1/2005.

What is an abnormal load and when is it required?+

As soon as a shipment exceeds the legal size or weight limits, it becomes an abnormal load (Decree No 2017-16). Three categories exist by length, width and mass: category 1 is declarative, categories 2 and 3 require prefectural authorisation, with pilot vehicles and a validated route.

How do you insure the transport of a work of art?+

With nail-to-nail cover (from removal to rehanging) on a pre-declared agreed value. A condition report is drawn up before departure and checked on unpacking, and the work travels in a climate-controlled crate. For temporary exhibitions abroad, the ATA Carnet eases export and re-import.

Do you transport dangerous goods (ADR)?+

Yes: gases (class 2), flammable liquids such as petroleum products (class 3) and other classes, with approved tankers and ADR-certified drivers. For export we apply the IMDG code (sea) or ADN (inland waterways).

What documents are needed for temporary international transport?+

The ATA Carnet allows temporary export and re-import free of duties and taxes for 12 months, between countries party to the Istanbul Convention. It is ideal for works of art, prototypes and exhibition equipment.
